Unlike traditional casts, a FastForm® SCB helps to optimize fracture treatment and follow ups in your clinic. There is no need for temporary splints or replacement casts as a FastForm® SCB functions as a Splint-Cast-Brace throughout the treatment episode.
A FastForm® SCB takes about 10 minutes in total to apply, from start to finish, with less than 3 minutes hands-on time in between – unlike traditional casts which take about 30 minutes to apply and dry, and 3D printed splints which take up to 4 working days to be custom-fabricated, shipped and fitted.
Once applied, a FastForm® SCB can be easily adjusted to compensate for swelling or muscle atrophy and changes in limb volume, eliminating the need for temporary splinting and replacement casts.
Reusable/No Cast Saw Required:
Using FastForm® SCB products can help save clinic time because they are reusable, so there is no need for additional devices or cutting off casts and recasting for follow up examinations. A FastForm® SCB can be painlessly removed by a HCP without the need to use a cast saw and reapplied and reused on that patient. This can help reduce office time and increase patient throughput and efficiencies as well as save money in casting and splinting supplies and inventory.
Because FastForm® SCB products are custom moldable and designed to precisely fit, physicians can continue to enjoy the level of control offered by traditional casting to provide a customized fit. When heated, a FastForm® SCB returns to a plaster-like state and as the polymer has zero memory, it allows physicians to accurately position, align and control the orthosis at every step of their patients’ treatments.
Compliance by Design:
FastForm® SCB products include a discrete compliance system as standard that deters and indicates unauthorized removal for better patient compliance.
FastForm® SCB products do not need to be removed for X-rays.
Flat-packed, single piece medical product. Two sizes satisfy the typical patient population.
Improved Patient Satisfaction:
Traditional casts and splints often lead to uncomfortable itching and unpleasant odor. They are heavier and generally more cumbersome, making it difficult for patients to move around and carry out their daily activities as normal.
FastForm® SCB products are strong yet lightweight and highly breathable, ensuring patients’ skin always remains dry and comfortable. The aerated design gives patients back the freedom to shower, swim and carry out their daily activities with greater ease and comfort.
FastForm® SCB products can he used for a variety of injuries:
Short arm fractures, simple wrist fractures, sprains and strains, tendonitis, cumulative trauma injuries, pain management, post operative support and protection, scaphoid fractures, primary stabilization for the first metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint and first carpometacarpal (CMC) joints, as well as secondary support for the radiocarpal and radioulnar wrist joints, minimally displaced fractures of the metacarpals, ulnar collateral ligament injuries and support in the post-healing rehab phase.
A FastForm® VERSI™ Sheet is a general-purpose splinting, casting and bracing material intended to be used for fabrication of custom molded rigid splints, orthoses, adaptive equipment, and extensions to other FastForm® products.
A superior alternative to traditional casting and non-custom moldable orthoses, FastForm® SCB products take the next step in providing convenience, compliance and cost-effectiveness for clinicians while giving patients the freedom to swim, shower, and carry out daily activities with greater ease and comfort.
